The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and de tempête, a global accounting BPO and business growth advisory firm, have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand international career opportunities for Bangladesh's accounting professionals, with a focus on the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets.

The partnership aims to bridge the gap between professional education and the requirements of international employers through career counselling, market-focused training, professional development and recruitment coordination.

The agreement was signed in Dhaka by Md. Kausar Alam FCMA, President of ICMAB, and Mohsena Khanom FCCA, Founder and CEO of de tempête.

Planned initiatives include workshops, webinars and country-specific courses covering taxation, VAT, anti-money laundering (AML), compliance, accounting and financial reporting. Participants may also receive support with CV preparation, interview readiness and professional networking, along with guidance on regional workplace expectations.

Under the agreement, the two organisations may share vacancies, introduce candidates to employers and arrange interviews, subject to applicable requirements. Programme schedules and implementation arrangements will be determined jointly.

"Preparing our members, affiliates and students for international careers requires strong technical foundations and an understanding of target markets," said Md. Kausar Alam FCMA. "This collaboration will provide practical learning, professional exposure and career guidance to help them pursue opportunities in the Gulf with greater confidence."

Mohsena Khanom FCCA said the initiative would help Bangladeshi accounting professionals turn their expertise into international career readiness through practical training, local insight and professional connections.

The signing ceremony was attended by ICMAB Vice Presidents Abdul Matin Patwary FCMA and S M Zahir Uddin Haider FCMA; Executive Director Md Mahbub-Ul-Alam; Assistant Director Md Sakil Ahmed; and Secretary Manjur Md Shaiful Azam FCMA.

De tempête was represented by Director and Chief Strategy Officer Hanium Maria Chowdhury and Operations Manager Arifur Rahman.

Founded in 2017, de tempête operates in the UAE, UK, Saudi Arabia, Estonia, USA and Bangladesh, serving clients across more than 24 industries. Its services include accounting outsourcing, tax and VAT advisory, AML compliance, HR and payroll, virtual CFO, business setup and investment readiness. Website: https://www.detempete.com/
