ICAB for strengthening role of CFOs, company secretaries as independent director

Delegate of ICAB calls on BSEC Chairman

Leaders of the Institute of Chartered Accountats Bangladesh (ICAB) stressed  strengthening role of CFOs/Company Secretary as independent director.

They also discussed issues regarding Audit fee, compulsion of having chartered accountants in listed entities as independent director while exchanging views with the  

The discussions took place on Thursday while a delegates of the ICAB, led by it President Md. Shahadat Hossain FCA paid a courtesy call on Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Chairman, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) at his office, Agargaon, Dhaka.

The other members of the ICAB delegation comprised of Vice Presidents N K A Mobin FCA, Fouzia Haque FCA and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mahbub Ahmed Siddique FCA. Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Chairman, BSEC congratulated ICAB new office bearers. ICAB delegates thanked him and informed him recent initiatives undertaken by ICAB. ICAB delegates requested BSEC Chairman to continue his support for the betterment of accounting profession and the economy of the country. 

The Chairman assured them of his full cooperation in the days to come.
