Ibnu Ahmed, a student of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Dhaka, has drawn significant attention in the run-up to the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election.

Known for his activism in disability inclusion and youth leadership, Ahmed has been considered by the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) for nomination as a General Member in the central committee.

Ahmed has long been engaged in advocacy for marginalized communities, particularly students with disabilities. Speaking about his candidacy, he emphasized his vision to ensure inclusivity in campus life. “My vision is to ensure that every student, regardless of their background or ability, has equal access to opportunities and facilities on campus,” he said.

In his campaign, Ahmed seeks to move beyond the traditional rivalries of student politics, focusing instead on diversity, empowerment, and justice. Observers suggest that his participation could introduce a fresh dimension to this year’s student election by spotlighting issues often sidelined in mainstream student politics.

If elected, Ahmed has pledged to work on accessibility reforms, strengthen student support systems, and promote a culture of unity within the university. His entry into the race has been widely regarded as a reflection of growing recognition of inclusive leadership in campus politics.
