ATM Hemayet Uddin, joint secretary general of Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB), died at his residence at Razabazar in the capital on Friday morning. His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held on Sher-e-Bangla T&T ground near the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban after Asar prayers. IAB chief and Peer of Chormonai Mufti Syed Rezaul Karim led the janaza prayers. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and leaders of different political parties joined the Namaz-e-Janaza. He was buried in Bagerhat.
Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Islami Onkya Jote, Khelafat Majlis, Bangladesh National Awami Party (Bangladesh NAP) and several other political parties and organisations expressed deep shock at the death of ATM Hemayet Uddin.
