Awami League (AL) nominated mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Thursday said that he will fulfill the expectation of the people by applying his last nine months’ mayoral experience. He said this while speaking at a views-exchange meeting on the homecoming day of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman orgnised by Dhaka North Awami League at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KI) in the capital.
Speaking at the programme Atiqul Islam said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has awarded me with the nomination. Now, I am not a person ‘Atiq’, I am the Atiq of Awami League. It’s an important election for AL. So we have to work together. If people support me and elect me as mayor, I will fulfill the expectation of the citizens.”
AL advisory committee member of AL Tofayel Ahmed, Presidium member Sheikh Fozlul Karim Selim, Joint secretary of AL Mahbub Ul Alom Hanif among others leaders were also spoke. Dhaka North AL president Sheikh Bazlur Rahman presided over the programme while General Secretary of Dhaka North AL SM Mannan Kochi moderate the programme.
