Thanks a lot. This victory is not mine alone, it is a victory for everyone. This victory belongs to the whole film family. I'm in love with everyone. Many people greeted me by shedding tears of joy over the phone. Many seniors called me that night.
I would like to know about your feelings since you got elected president for the second time of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti.
I am indebted and also I'm very grateful. I want to convey my thanks to all of my seniors and juniors from the industry. Thank you to everyone who chose me and our panel. We have done well in the association for the past two years, and the artistes have shown us their support by voting for us.
Your previous committee had some allegations of corruption and irregularities against it. Will the new committee rectify the irregularities after taking office, or will it manage the association like before?
We did not have any corruption. There were some irregularities, I admit. This time I hope there will be no irregularities. In future, we will do better and in a more planned way. We will correct the minor mistakes which had done before.
After the election results, did you get the chance to talk to your closest candidate, Moushumi?
No, I haven't talked to her yet. I'll call Moushumi, most deficiently. And I have to say again and again that Moushumi is a friend of mine and she has not lost. I just got the responsibility to serve the artistes once more. Moushumi didn’t suffer any defeat here. We are not a political organisation. We are artistes. We are stay with each other in all happiness and sorrow. I will rub out all irregularities.
After the votes were casted, there was a rumor on social media and Facebook about Moushumi becoming president. Her name was also being discussed by people. How did you feel then?
In the past, I have done my duty to the artistes giving my fullest. That is why I was confident that I will be the winner. I was very much confident in the members. They have honored me in return and both Moushumi and I went live to dispel these rumors.
