Popular actress Lux star Azmeri Haque Badhon is a dear face of the small screen. She has also acted in a film which is however pending release. The actress is staying at home following government directives due to coronavirus. A Mizan writes about current issues after talking to her.
How are you spending your time?
As per the government directive, I have been at home since March 17. I am following the advice of the experts, doing regular exercise, eating nutritious food, reading books, spending time for my daughter. I used to spend time with my baby before, now I have more time. Now that I have endless time in my hands, I am giving more and more time.
Other than that I am writing diary. I don't that much of a writing habit still I am trying to write down the days of this coronavirus outbreak in my own perspective. I am keeping an extra eye on my daughter and parents. At this time, I am taking care of their mental and physical health. This is how time passes away each day.
What new are you doing in these days of coronavirus outbreak?
I never used to go live on social media that much. Now I regularly go live on my Instagram, Facebook and Ring ID pages, interacting with my fans and trying to make people aware from my place.
How long have you been at home?
I have been at home since March 17. Other than that I had gone out two days for some grocery shopping. Since I didn't stock food at my house, I had to go out to the market.
What is your message to everyone?
First of all, as citizens of Bangladesh, we should all stay at home following government directives. I urge everyone to follow the government instructions and we stay at home. Now we all have to do this battle together and from home. Also only news from authentic sites should be followed because now many people are spreading rumors. So, those which are not authentic should be avoided.
Don’t you feel frustrated staying at home all the time?
I am a patient of depression. I have been since I was 19 years old. I had to struggle a lot since then. My depression is not constant it sometimes takes over me and then again goes away, I have to handle it. I always have to keep an eye on my mental health. We have fallen into a situation which the people of the world haven’t faced in the last one hundred years.
I wasn’t prepared for this situation. I had to be mentally tough to adapt to this situation. I have suffered financially. I have to think about my daughter all the time. So some frustration has taken root. However, since this problem is everyone’s, I am trying to deal with the situation by focusing on the present.
Do you have regular contact with people of the media?
I have been in contact with those I am close with. We have several organisations. We talk to each other that is why it feels nice. Coronavirus has put us in danger. We are all going through a difficult time. But it is also teaching us a lot. We have become so humane that we can fix our old bad relationships. Corona virus has shaken me up.
What do you want to do when the coronavirus period is over?
I have tried all my life to be a woman. All the time I was thinking about the future. I never wanted to spend my time for the present. I never really wanted to be a good person. In the last two years, I've been trying to make myself really a good human being. I want to do something for people. I want to spend my whole life for the welfare of the people.
I think at the end of these coronavirus days I will focus more on my present. I will make my present more productive. I usually do not mean ill of people by nature. But I want to make myself better and do something good for people. I want to do something better for my society and country.
