Singer and presenter Alif Alauddin, daughter of legendary composer and music director Alauddin Ali, has almost lost both her kidneys. From the doctor’s report, she can know that 80 percent of her two kidneys are damaged.

Therefore, specialist doctors have suggested a quick kidney transplant. Alif and her family are now preparing for that.

Alif Alauddin said that she got the disease from her mother because it is a genetic disease. Her mother, musician Salma Sultana, passed away in 2016 after suffering from the same disease.

Alif said, “I have been suffering from this disease for 10 years. These ten years I have fought the disease alone which I didn’t tell anyone outside of family members. I have always tried to keep a smile on my face.

But I could not hide myself from it with the direction I was going day by day. The morale was dropping. It’s true, being able to share with all of you makes me feel a little lighter. Now I am very confident.”

The artistew added that now there is no other option but to have a kidney transplant. That preparation has already started. Alif’s husband, musician Kazi Faisal Ahmed, uncle - music director Shouquat Ali Imon and producer-presenter Anjam Masud are also involved in the management.

Alif’s uncle Shouquat Ali Imon said, “We are all family members. On the contrary, now additionally the entire media including Anjam Masud is with her. Anjam first published the matter on Facebook.

After that, the emotional support that Alif or our family members are getting from the media is not actually available through treatment. Alif will surely recover from the love of everyone.”

But in the ongoing epidemic, whether it is possible to have a kidney transplant or go abroad for it is needed to be seen. Anjam Masud said that Alif’s disease is called polycystic kidney disease. The treatment process for this disease is quite long. Kidney transplants are also quite complicated and expensive.

However, the family has decided to have a kidney transplant. Dialysis will continue until then. Along with kidney donors, ancillary preparations will also continue which will take another two months. Alif’s family members are of the opinion that the coronavirus epidemic may be over by then.

Alif Alauddin is now at home. Going to the hospital if necessary, taking doctor’s advice. Regular dialysis is going on.

Alif Alauddin’s voice is now full of tear with desire to live. “I want to live a few more days for my daughter,” she said.
