Kumar Bishwajit is a legendary and evergreen singer and like everyone else, this famous artiste is living under home quarantine due to coronavirus. Recently, two songs have been released featuring his melody. A Mizan writes talking to him about work and other issues.
How are you spending your time?
My time goes on through taking care of the house and doing some works around the house. My wife went to America and got stuck in lockdown there. So at home I only have my son and a few house-aides. In this situation, it takes time to explain all the household chores to them well.
Doesn't it feel bad to be under home quarantine?
Humans are social creatures. It is normal for people to be with everyone socially. How long can someone survive being distant socially! It feels bad when you can't go out. And it has no vaccine. Everything looks bad altogether. Life is going on in uncertainty. Everyone is in the same situation.
How long can you stay at home like this! But there is no other way, besides that I love being at home. But one can only stay at home for so long like this. I wonder to myself when the situation will be normal and when will I be able to sing openly again.
What is your message to everyone?
I will tell everyone not to break down mentally because such a disaster has never happened before in the world. None of us were prepared for such a situation. This time is very bad. Because when a loved one leaves, no one can go to him. There is nothing more difficult than this as a human being.
I think it's nature's revenge because we have done a lot of oppression on nature. So there is no way but to seek mercy from the Creator. This is why I want the creator to calm the world again. Blessings for those who have left the world at this time and I salute all the front line fighters including doctors, journalists, police, law enforcement who have come forward in this difficult time. Everyone be careful, stay safe.
What thoughts came to your mind at this time of pandemic?
I owe a lot to people because everyone has given me so much love. So I want to be with everyone for a few more days. I want to do something better.
Are you doing anything new?
A song sung by Kishore, Imran, Liza and Nishita has been released to my tune this Eid. Also, a lockdown song featuring me has recently been released in Kishore's voice. Besides, many songs have been stored in my studio. My sound engineer lives in Dhanmondi. So I can't record the songs. I will finish the work when the situation is normal.
What do you want to do when the coronavirus period is over?
I have a lot of wishes. In the meantime, when coronavirus period is over, I want to hug my loved ones.
