Selima Ahmad Merry, the nominated candidate of Awami League for Cumilla-2 constituency, held an election rally at Homna in Comilla on Thursday.
At the largest public meeting in the history of Homna Adarsh High School, she said, “I became member of parliament (MP) with your love and prayers. I can confidently say that I will not forget your love this time either.”
“Since I am new to politics, there have been repeated attempts to undermine me. So, I could not implement all my plans. At every rank some people created obstacles on my way to implement plans for the development of my polling constituency Homna. But I want to say, the complete development of my beloved Homna will happen through my hands,” she added.
“My Homna people are self-confident. They walk with more confidence than before. This is what I wanted for the past few days. Building strong and self-confident people in this area is my pledge. Tell me if you are more confident than before? Tell me if your morale is higher than before? Your MP Selima Ahmad Meri, tell me if this identity gives you strength?,” Merry said.
She further said, “I want to announce that women in my area will be able to can earn sitting at home. Brothers and sisters will not remain unemployed, they will be trained up. As you know, violence against women is completely stopped in this area.”
“I have been working on women development for a long time. I am this Homna’s daughter. If I can make it this far as a Homna’s woman, so can other women. Homna’s women have a lot of skills and potential. By using it, we will change their fate very easily, InshAllah,” she added.
“And for that you must vote for me to my Boat symbol. Awami League has no other brand. Its symbol is Boat. The symbol of development is Boat.
Think before you believe those who are voting for other symbols except Boat’ Merry added.
