How are you spending your time?
Before the beginning of Ramadan I used to just wake up, eat, watch cinema and series and them went back to sleep. All my time used to pass by watching movies and series.
But, since Ramadan has begun I am spending my time in a better way, I can say that it is going perfectly. I am not feeling like being in a lockdown at all. I am passing a perfect Ramadan. Starting from praying to fasting, everything is going well.
How long has it been since you last went out?
It has been one month and fifteen days since I have stepped indoors. It was ten days before the government imposed the undeclared lockdown.
What is your message to everyone?
I have nothing to say at this moment. Even if Salman Khan, Sarukh Khan, Shakib Khan go from door to door and tell them not to go out of their homes, still people won’t listen to them. Those who need to go out they will go out.
Unless and until people see for themselves that someone close to them is getting infected with the virus and are dying from negligence and lack of treatment, people won’t understand the severity of the situation.
Specially, until the fear of death grasps onto people, they won’t be able to stop from going out of their homes.
How much has frustration affected you in this situation?
I have become frustrated to some extent. I think to myself about what the situation will turn out to be. Especially, the situation of the cinema was already very bad and a number of cinema halls were on the brink of shutting down permanently.
Now, with the effect of the coronavirus, I ponder whether the condition of our cinema will return to its former glory. Over all, thinking about these things makes me very sad and frustrated.
Are you missing work?
I am missing my work very much. I miss all the people and crew members who used to work with me. I am missing the words light, camera, action. Also, I am missing most the daily busyness that I used to have before all this started.
Do you have contact with people close to you in the media?
I am not specially connected with everyone in the media. But, yes, those who I am close to, I am regularly connected with them.
Once the coronavirus period is over, what is the first thing that you want to do?
As soon as the coronavirus period ends, I want to jump into shooting. I’ll die if shooting doesn’t start soon.
Your poems have become quite famous. When will we get new poems?
I actually don’t write poems and am unable to write poems as well. Sometimes I write a few lines and I myself get astonished as to what I have written.
This is something I find very funny. However, since people like them, I am feeling very proud of myself. So, if god wills it I am going to try to do better next time.
