Fortune Barishal captain Shakib al Hasan believes the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will be a great platform for young players to emerge for the national team.
During the jersey unveiling of Fortune Barishal on Tuesday, the premier all-rounder said that Bangladesh cricket will get two-three new emerging players from the tournament.
“It is a great opportunity for the cricketers of the country, a big stage to showcase their talent and chance to join the national team by showing their performance. I believe we will get two or three new cricketers from here who will be able to represent at least in the T20 format,” said Shakib.
“It’s a great platform for new cricketers to come to the national team, where they can perform and at least get to the stage where they can go to the national team,” he added.
The 8th season of the six-franchise BPL will get underway on January 21 when Fortune Barishal take on the Chattogram Challengers at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Mirpur.
