Husband, wife die of Covid-19 in Narsingdi

A husband and a wife died with coronavirus in Madhabdi. Haji Sharif Hossain Moktar (58) died on Monday and his wife Samiun Begum (51) died a day after him. She died at a hospital in Dhaka around 2.30pm on Tuesday. 

The deceased couple are residents of Nuralapur village under Madhabadi police station of Sadar upazila. The late Samiun Begum is the elder sister of Madhabdi Municipal Mayor Mosharraf Hossain Pradhan Manik and President of Narsingdi Chamber of Commerce and Industries Ali Hossain Shishir.

According to family sources, Sharif Moktar was a patient of open-heart surgery. He was also suffering from various diseases for a long time. Recently, when he was admitted to a hospital in Dhaka for treatment of a chronic disease, his samples were collected and tested for corona. His report came positive. Later, samples of his wife who was with him in the hospital were also tested positive.

In fact, both the husband and wife were kept in isolation in a hospital in Dhaka. Sharif Moktar died on Monday afternoon while undergoing treatment. On the same day at 10 pm in the presence of the convener of the quick response team of Narsingdi Corona Resistance Cell and Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohammad Shah Alam Miah, his janaza and burial was completed in accordance with the health rules. His wife died at 2.30 pm on Tuesday.
