A husband snatched his 13 months old child from the mother and his wife after assaulting her on Friday. The incident took place in Shahapara village under Chirirbandar Upazila of Dinajpur.
Md. Nasir, father of the victim wife informed that her daughter Jesmin Ara Popi married Md. Hasmat three years ago. His relative informed him on Friday noon that her daughter has been assaulted by her in-laws.
Upon receiving the news, he informed Chirirbandar Police Station. A team of Chirirbandar Police led by SI Sukumar Roy then rescued the mother and her child and sent the woman with her father.
However, on the way, the accused Hasmat with his group attacked his wife and her father and then snatched the child from them. Locals in the meantime admitted the wife and her father to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital. The mother of the snatched child in her grave condition urged authorities to rescue her child from her accused husband.
Chirirbandar Police Station Officer-in-Charrge Subrata Kumar Sarker said they have heard about the incident. After receiving complaints from the victim, they will take proper action in this regard.
