A man was arrested on Wednesday early morning for allegedly strangling his wife to death over domestic quarrel in Majhgram village under Lalpur Upazila of Natore.
The murderer husband was identifies as Saddam Hossain, son of Tayjal Prang of Majhgram Dakshinpara village under Lalpur upazila and the victim wife was identified as Sharmin Akhter, daughter of Tahurul Islam of Lahalamari Shaheb Village under Shibganj police station of Chapainawabganj.
Natore Superintendent of Police (SP) Liton Kumar Saha in a press briefing on Wednesday morning said, on last Saturday (January 23) at around 11 pm, Saddam strangled Sharmin over a domestic quarrel in their room and fled away afterwards.
Sharmin's brother Ripon Ali filed a case in this regard with Lalpur police station on January 25. Later, when Saddam gave a confessional statement in accordance with section 164 in this case the court sent the accused to jail.
