Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Thursday urged all to keep the wheels of economy moving by accepting the reality of coronavirus situation and following the necessary health rules, reports BSS.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is giving instructions, including the announcement of stimulus packages, to tackle the COVID-19 situation. In line with the instructions, like other organizations, Industries Ministry and its subordinate bodies will have to work,” he said.
The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a meeting for giving necessary instructions to continue the implementation activities of the ongoing projects under the Industries Ministry during the COVID-19 situation at the Industries Ministry conference room in the city, said a press release.
State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder attended the meeting as the special guest while Industries Secretary M Abdul Halim presided over the meeting.
Humayun asked the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) to continue production activities of its fertilizer factories maintaining the health rules.
“To increase agricultural production, it is necessary to ensure adequate supply of fertilizers to farmers across the country,” he added.=
Kamal Mojumder asked the Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) to be more proactive in making the state-owned sugar mills profitable.
