A joint social movement in Jamalpur organized a Jamalpur district branch demanding exemplary punishment of the killers of BUET student Abarar.
The human chain was held on Wednesday (October 9th) at noon at Bokultola Square.
Jamalpur District Branch President Zahangir Selim presided over the human chain chaired by Jamalpur District Branch Advisor Ali Imam Dulal, Sajjad Ansari, Amir Uddin, general secretary Hilul Sarkar and Vice President of Jamalpur press club Dulal Hossain.
Speakers on the human chain said that a Facebook post had beaten Abrar by the ruling student party. Such events are not new. Earlier, many people including Tawki, Bishwajit, Abu Bakor and Zubair Hafizur were sacrificed.
This is not student politics. Fair political practice of student interests can change this culture. To date, a fair trial should be ensured by a fair investigation into each of the killings that have taken place, including Abrar.
In addition, the judiciary and the university administration will have to play a strong role so as not to kill any new aberrant in the future. The perpetrator of the crime cannot have any other identity.
