A number of students and locals formed a human chain at Satmatha intersection in Bogura city on Wednesday protesting against a move to grab the playground of Ideal Government Primary School in Badurtola-borogola the area.
Speakers at the human chain said that the playground is used as the school playground since 1952. The 12 Satak land is actually belongs to adjacent Narayan Bigraha temple. Some local influential persons are trying to grab this land to sell it which temple authority does not want.
Any attempt to grab this playground will be thwarted in any cost, speakers warned.
Later, the protesters submit memorandum to the deputy commissioner of the district, Police Super and sub registrar.
Tinpotti Narayan Bigraha temple president Chapal Saha, CPB Bogura general secretary Aminul Farid, playground protect committee convener Niazul Islam Mosarraf, saiful Islam Lebu were spoked at the programme.
Tinpotti Narayan Bigraha temple committee president and journalist Chapal Saha said, “This playground is pride to us. We used to play in this ground in our early childhood. Children and locals are enriching themselves in organising various games and cultural functions here. But some vested quarters are trying to grab this land illegally.”
“We will protest and thwart any attempt to grab this land.” He warned.
