Human chain on Journo assault Arrest culprits by two weeks

Journalist leaders have given a two-week ultimatum to arrest those who attacked Independent television Senior Reporter Hafizur Rahman Biblob.

The ultimatum was issued during a human chain of Bangladesh Journalists Forum (BJFF) in front of National Press Club at around 11:00am on Saturday.

They urged the police administration to be more strict in stopping attacks and torture on professional journalists. 

The speakers said that professional journalists have been attacked and tortured repeatedly as the alleged criminals are not given exemplary punishment. 

BFUJ-Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Secretary General Deep Azad, Dhaka Union Journalists General Secretary Aktar Hossain, Treasurer Ashraful Islam, Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) President Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo, Dhaka Shangbadik paribar Bahumukhi Samabay  Samity General Secretary Mofizur Rahman Khan Babu , former executive member of Dhaka Union Journalists Golam Mujtaba Dhrub, former leader Mir Afroz Zaman, former vice president of Dhaka Sub Editors Council (DSEC) Sahidul Islam, welfare secretary Zafrul Alam, M Shahjahan Saju and were also present in the human chain. 

Earlier on Sunday, a former major beat and tortured a salesman in Mirpur-10. On protesting this, Hafizur Rahman Biblob was attacked by that person and the people who were with him. GM Rashedul Hasan led this attack. Hafizur Rahman Biplob made a general diary in this incident at Kafrul police station.
