Human chain in Cox’s Bazar to prevent Rohingya infiltration in labour market

Rohingyas sheltered in Bangladesh are fleeing from the Rohingya camp in Ukhia-Teknaf to the city's labor market, evading the administration. They are disrupting security by dividing the work of local day laborers. Creating chaos. The affected local workers. That is why the Cox's Bazar Day Labor Unity Council has organized a human chain to stop the Rohingya infiltration in the labor market.

On Sunday at around 10 am in the premises of the old Shaheed Minar on Shahid Smarani Road in the city, more than one and a half hundred day laborers participated in this human chain. Journalists, student union leaders and leaders of the Rohingya Prevention Committee took part in the human chain with the day laborers agreeing to this demand.

Speakers at the human chain said that the government is providing all kinds of facilities including accommodation, food, medical treatment, education and entertainment in 34 camps of Ukhia-Teknaf to the more than 11 lakh Rohingyas who have been given shelter for humanitarian reasons. Even after this, the Rohingyas are getting out of the camps by evading the eyes of the administration (check posts) and getting involved in various criminal activities. They are attacking the local labor market. 

The local workers are severely affected. The quality and value of work is declining as a result of Rohingyas. Duke is returning to the camp illegally after committing various misdeeds in the labor market. This has made the labor market insecure. There are also allegations that Rohingyas are threatening local day laborers to occupy the labor market. If the Rohingya infiltration continues like this, there is a danger of great danger.The human chain has demanded that the concerned authorities including the deputy commissioner and law enforcement should give a gift of a safe labor market free of Rohingyas.

Cox's Bazar Dinmuzar Oikya Parishad advisor Mohammad Arif and its founding chairman Omar Farooq Hiru presided over the rally. Ehesanul Qutubi, Unity Council President Md.
