Participants in a huge human chain on Friday at Pairachatter in Jhenaidah town demanded establish railway line, medical college hospital and a university in the district at no delay.
The participants from various government and non-government organizations, civil society, cultural organizations and business community had appeared in the human chain with banner, placard, festoon written with a number of slogans.
If the government fails to realize the demands, the activists under the banner Jhenaidah Rail line, medical collage university implementation committee will go for tougher action, they had warned.
Jhenaidah district Judges Court public prosecutor SM Mashiur Rahman, journalist Alauddin Azad, BNP Jhenaidah district unit joint secretary Abdul majid Biswas,, human rights activists Aminur Rahman Tuku, NM SHahjalal, Mahbubr Rahman Shekhar, Dokan malik Samity general secretary Maniruzzaman Khan Mithu, Mufti Arif Billah, Mamtazul Karim, Qamruzzaman Pintu and Manirul Islam Mintu among others spoke establishing of a railway line through Jhenaidah town and medical college hospital and a university in Jhenaidah district. But it was a cry for the people for decades together. The establishment of the structures and establishments will not benefit the only people of the district, but also play significant role if improving the socio-economic state of other south-western district people.
They said it will connect Jhenaidah with other destinations through the rail line where each and every person will enjoy the transport at least cost. Further, the train communications will contribute a lot for the farmers to carry the agricultural produces throughout the country. Considering the importance they had demanded immediate implementation of the proposals, the said.
