A human chain was formed and a protest march was held in Thakurgaon on Wednesday with a view to maintaining peace, order and building resistance against drugs and corruption with the slogan “Jege Utho Thakurgaonbashi, Sobar Mukhe Futbe Hashi (Rise up Thakurgaon people, everyone will smile)”
The protest march and human chain programme was held at Pirganj east intersection in Thakurgaon district on Wednesday noon under the banner of Thakurgaon Chirantan jointly arranged by students and people.
Former Upazila Parishad Chairman Ziaul Islam Zia, former Vice-Chairman Istesham Ul Haque Mim, Sengaon Union Chairman Saidur Rahman, Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami leader Bablur Rashid, Pirganj Press Club president Jaynal Abedin Babul, Municipality Councilor Dabirul Islam, Thakurgaon Chirantan members Shah Alam Sneho, Asaduzzaman Shah, Nafiul Islam Elin, Mehrab Ali Liton, Alamgir Hossain, Robi Khan and others spoke at that time.
The speakers urged everyone to be vocal against drugs, corruption and irregularities.
