Huge tourists likely to visit Sundarbans, Shat Gombuj Masjid during Eid

The tourism spots in Bagerhat district, particularly the Sundarbans and the 'Shat Gombuj Masjid' are to welcome the tourists on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr. Like previous years, initiatives have been taken by East Sundarbans Division and District Archeology Department to ensure safety and security of the tourists.

Golam Ferdous, custodian of 'Shat Gombuj Masjid', said that various steps were taken to ensure safe and attractive journey of tourists. Huge number of local and foreign tourists visits 'Shat Gombuj Masjid' and the shrine of Hazrat Khanjahan Ali on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The Department of Archeology has completed all preparations in this regard.

Sources of the Department of Archeology said a team of law enforcers will work to ensure the security. Raju Ahmed, owner of one of the canteens of municipal park adjacent to the Doratana river in Bagerhat town, said that thousands of people come here to visit the spot. Many people visit there during the Eid. The scenario of the river Doratana always attracts the visitors, he added.

He also said that not only during the Eid vacation, many people visit there in other times. Hawladar Azad Kabir, acting officer of Karamjal Wild Animal Breeding Center of East Sundarbans of Bagerhat, said that there is a widespread arrival of domestic and foreign patrons on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Mainly local people visit here on the Eid day.

The number of tourists increases from the day after the Eid, he added. Like previous years, necessary preparations including repairing of different structures have been taken to make Karmazalake more attractive to tourists on the occasion of Eid. Md Mahmudul Hasan, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Bagerhat East Sundarbans Division, said that thousands of tourists arrive in the tourist resort of Karmzal, Kanchilah, Hiron Point and Dubalarkar in the Sundarbans.
