Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized a huge quantity of Indian sarees , three pics, pad lock and other cloths worth over Tk 4 crore from Amrakhali area under Benapole Port Police Station on yesterday(Thyrsday) night.
Lt Col Salim Reja, commanding officer of BGB 49 Battalion said that A team of the border guards, acting on a tip-off, raided the area beside Benapole-Jashore road and seized a large quantity of Indian sarees, three-pieces, pad lock and other cloths from an abandoned covered Van. The seized smuggled goods were later deposited to Jashore Custom warehouse, the CO added. A case was filed with Police station.
