The 2nd day of Income Tax Fair 2019 drew a remarkable amount of Tk 479 crore from return submission, witnessing a huge crowd as the people visited the fair on Friday.
The Tax Fair is being held with a festive mode at 120 places including at eight divisions, 56 districts and 56 upazilas at a time.
The Fairs remain open from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Submission of income tax return, e-payment, e-filling and e-TIN servicers are available for the taxpayers.
In order to facilitate the taxpayers, the government has opened a website for the first time.
This year the fair premises have been widened by 4 to 5 times comparing to the previous years.
The taxpayers are also able to pay their tax amount by using mobile banking facilities like 'Nagad', 'Rocket', 'bKash' and 'Sure cash'.
A total of 268,684 tax payers visited the fair across the country.
Of them, 73,843 tax payers submitted return of Tk. 479,01,28,797. Besides, 3,602 new e-TIN have been registered on the 2nd day.
NBR Chairman, Md. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan visited different fairs’ stalls in the city.
He said the spontaneous presence of taxpayers in the income tax fair is increasing day by day.
“People from different strata of the society are attending the fair in a festive mood and submitting their tax return,” he added.
"People are getting their job done without any hassle, specially the presence of female tax payers in the fair was remarkable which has been considered as a good sign", he added.
He asked the NBR officials to refrain from showing any negative attitude toward the visitors at the fair, telling them to extend all out cooperation and support to them.
“NBR has been working relentlessly to fulfill the target set in the national budget of the current fiscal,” he said
