Huge crowd on the penultimate Friday

Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) on Friday witnessed a huge crowd of visitors at its all local and international stalls and pavilions. Visitors will have just another Friday before the fair ends on the last day of the current month.
As the fair running towards the end, number of visitors’ increasing every day, especially on the weekends. Yesterday, the fair became full to the brim with visitors before noon. Thousands of visitors thronged the 25th edition of the fair ignoring the cold winter morning at Agargaon in the capital.
Traders said as the gathering of people of all ages has increased so the sale has also increased.
To avoid excessive hustle at the entrance of the fair yesterday, a number of visitors crowded there even before the fair was started. Visitors were seen waiting in long queue in front of the closed main gate of the fair. As a result, the fairground was full of visitors just before it was noon.
There were crowd of visitors at almost every stall and pavilion in the fair. Visitors were seen entering the pavilions of popular brands in queue.
Shahela Akhter came to the fair with her family from Mohammadpur area of the city. She bought crockery items from the fair.
“I knew there would be huge gathering of people here today as it is a weekend day. So I chose morning time to avoid gathering. But the fair is still crowded,” she added.
Alam Jahangir came to the fair from old part of Dhaka to buy furniture.
He said, “There is a chance to see quality products in the fair. That's why I came to the fair in the morning,”
Furniture seller Akash Kumar said, "More visitors are coming to our stall every day. Today, as it is weekend, the number of visitors is relatively high. The sales volume is even higher.”
