Abdus Salam, Dinajpur

About 10,000 students of Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology (HSTU) in Dinajpur have fallen into great tension due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Even though online classes are allowed, no one can say when the exam will be held. The age limit for employment is only 30 years. Since 2020, the university may be in session due to lack of examinations. Foreign students have the most problems.

HSTU authorities told this correspondent that all the activities of the university were closed for a long one year and two months. There is also no permanent vice chancellor for 4 months. It's like a bad luck. condition! Meanwhile, although the annual examination was held in the 2017 academic year, the results have not been announced yet. Students studying in different academic years said that all the quiz-mid examinations should be completed in the form of assignments online, then the semester finals should be completed at 1 o'clock, whether online or offline. I'm just taking classes online, nothing is happening.

The students said that when we were admitted, the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor was delayed and we were already 3 months behind. Now the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor is being delayed again. We will tangle the session. In this regard, the In Charge vice chancellor Bidhan Chandra Haldar said, the semester finals may be taken online until the epidemic corona situation returns to normal.

Asked when the test could take place, he also said, The government could say. I do not want to comment on this. Asked about the types of online exams, he said viva and creative assignments could be given as an alternative to the written exam. In the case of lab courses, lab tests can be taken in compliance with the hygiene rules. The rules for the examination will be decided by the Academic Council.

Meanwhile, foreign students in hstu said, The Bangladesh government should take immediate action to open the university. At least if you take the tests according to the hygiene rules, I hope such problems will not arise. None of us will get stuck in the session. We are annoyed to have classes online. The comments of about 10,000 students of hstu are almost the same.
