The results of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations are likely to be published in January.

Education Minister Dipu Moni will brief journalists about overall academic activities on December 29, said Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education Md Abul Khair.

The Education Minister will talk about the HSC and equivalent results, next year SSC exam and reopening of educational institutions.

About the HSC results, Dhaka Education Board Exam Controller SM Amirul Islam said, “If the policy for making results is approved, it will be possible to complete the work for publishing HSC results within the next one week. We have taken all the preparations.”

HSC and equivalent examinations were postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni announced that all the HSC candidates would be auto pass this year as it was not possible to hold examinations. She also said that the results of the test would be published by December.

Besides, an eight-member grade evaluation technical committee comprising an additional secretary of the education ministry was formed to publish the results.

Earlier this month, the committee formed a draft guideline containing several proposals for determining GPA grades and sent it to the Education Ministry.

According to officials concerned of the Ministry of Education, HSC exam results are being delayed as Dr Dipu Moni was infected with coronavirus. Due to her illness, it was not possible to approve the proposed guidelines of the technical committee. If it is approved, results will be created through software on the basis of the policy.

It was learnt that the HSC results will not be published by December as it was not possible to finalize the proposal in due time.

According to the proposal of the technical committee, SSC examination results will be given more importance to determine the grade. The results of the HSC examination will be published by adding 75 percent from SSC and 25 percent from JSC or its equivalent marks to the total marks of this examination.
