HSC examinee killed for Tk 50 lakh as ransom

A group of abductors killed a HSC candidate for  a ransom for tk 50 lakh at Purakhali village in Abhaynagar upazila of Jashore district on early Thursday. Police recovered his body from Purakhali Baor on Thursday morning

The deceased was identified as Nuruzzaman Babu (18) son of Imran Gazi of Purakhali village of the upazila. He was a HSC candidate this year from the Commerce Department of Dhopadi SS College. Police have arrested two abductors involved in the incident. 

According to Abhaynagar police sources, Nuruzzaman Babu went missing on June 1. The miscreants then called his father Imran Gazi for a ransom of Tk 50 lakh. Father of Imran Gazi lodged a complaint with Abhaynagar Police Station on June 2.

Investigating the allegations and using information technology, the police arrested two suspects.

The arrestees were identified  as Rifat Ahmed Aush 20 of Purakhali village in Abhaynagar upazila and Abdur Razzak, 22 a resident of Kotchandpur area in Jhenaidah.

During police interrogation, they confessed for  abducting Nuruzza­man Babu. 

Later, according to their confesson, Babu's body was recovered from under the water of Purakhali Baor on Thursday morning. Abhaynagar Police station, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tajul Islam said college student Nuruzzaman Babu was abducted demanding a ransom of tk 50 lakh.
