Hridi Haq’s ‘1971 Shei Shob Din’ release on Aug 18

With the eagerly awaited government-funded movie "1971 Shei Shob Din," which tells the compelling story of Bangladesh's Liberation War, is all set to release in theatre. Renowned actress and playwright Hridi Haq is making her directorial debut with the film. The director unveiled the much-awaited release date in a press event held at the National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Monday night.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed personalities such as Lucky Inam, Mamunur Rashid, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Tauquir Ahmed, Ferdous, Sara Zaker, Abul Hayat, Litu Anam, Tanzika Amin and many others, who have played vital roles in the film.

Director Hridi Haq expressed her meticulous approach towards the movie, stating, "We have invested great care and effort into creating this film. Now, we eagerly await the moment when it can be presented to the audience. If all goes well, '1971 Shei Shob Din' will grace the silver screen on August 18."

The film revolves around a family's experiences during 1971, providing a poignant portrayal of the era.

Apart from directing, Hridi Haq herself features in "1971 Shei Shob Din", alongside a talented ensemble cast comprising Mamunur Rashid, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Munmun Ahmed, Shilpi Sharkar Apu, Ferdous, Tareen, Litu Anam, Saju Khadem, Sanjida Preeti, and many more. Notably, Litu Anam makes a remarkable comeback to cinema with this film, after a hiatus of 15 years.

In the movie, Ferdous, Litu Anam, and Sajal deliver compelling performances, portraying the roles of three brothers actively engaged in the Liberation War.
