The recent decades have seen a rise in the population of the country. More and more people are looking towards the cities for better opportunities in life and employment. Recent reports published in this daily suggest that the government is aware of the lack of housing for the people. And, in knowing so it has already taken steps to initiate a plan to develop the fallow government owned lands for habitation of the lower and middle income people. Undoubtedly, this expansion programme is quite praiseworthy, as it will give a scope to the underprivileged and middle class people a way to better life.

Reports say that there are plans for the Presidential Order-7 to be implemented here which will result into execution of the plan. The lower and middle income people in the country will be very much benefitted with this initiative. The housing apartments will be made with modern technology which is a great initiative for bringing in foreign developers in the country. This will also present a scope of investment for them. This plan is sure to bring about a number of changes in the country’s housing sector.

On another note, this plan is to be invoked under the ‘rent to buy’ method. Here, the method utilizes lease options with clear contracts. Through this process the lower and middle income group will be able to rent out a flat for a said amount of time at the end of which they will be given the option to buy that property.

The authorities concerned should keep an eye on this project as it is quite a vast development plan. The prospect of involving foreign investment from developers is surely a laudable one. The sooner this plan becomes a reality the better it will be for the development of the country.
