Housewife’s decomposed body recovered in Jhenaidah

Decomposed body of a housewife was recovered from a beel in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila on Saturday, 10 days after missing. The deceased was identified as Mousumi Khatun, 24, daughter of Shamser Uddin of Ramnagar village at the upazila. She has a four year old son.

Family sources said that she was married to some Rokan Uddin of Khayertala area in Jhenaidah municipality. Due to family feud, she left her husband’s house and had been living at her parents’ house. But she had relation with her husband Rokan Uddin.

Mousumi Khatun’s brother Sujan Hosain said his mother along with the son of Mousumi, were staying in the house of one of their relation since July 2 last. Their father was also staying outside the house for business purposes. In the morning of July 3 Mousumi’s husband informed the neighbors that Mousumi was untraced since 3pm.

 After searching at different places and near and dear ones when she was not traced, husband Rokan Uddin filed a general diary with Jhenidah Sadar police station on the same night.

OC of Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station Mjanur Rahman said local farmers informed the police when they saw the body floating in the beel water in the afternoon of Saturday. Later the police recovered the same and sent to Jhenidah Sadar hospital morgue for post mortem examination.

Police was investigating the matter. The post mortem report might help detect the clue of the death, the police man said.
