A housewife along with her two and half year son came from Munshiganj district to find out her untraced husband was raped by two men at Shahebpara area under Shiddhirganj police station on Sunday night.
The victim filed a complaint to Shiddhirganj police against two rapist-Mohshin,35, son of Samsul Biswas, resident of Boupara village of Gazipur district and Ramjan,32, resident of Keshobganj village of ullapara upazila in Sirajganj district.
After filing a case police conducted a raid on Tuesday night at Ullapara upazila in Sirajganj district and captured accused Ramjan who is brother in law of the victim’s husband.
Both the rapists are friends of the victim's husband and they are tenants of Shahebpara area, police said.
In the complaint, the victim stated that she came to Shahebpara area to find out her husband who went into hiding with his sister in law(wife’s younger sister). At around 8.30 pm she met with Mohshin who lured her to have her husband take her under an under construction building of Jasim and then he raped her in front of her infant son. Later, Ramjan also raped her in the same spot.
Police said that the victim came to file a complaint on Monday but she was not capable of identifying the spot. In these circumstances, police got out with the victim and found out the spot and name of those rapists.
Officer-in-Charge of Shiddhirganj police station Md. Kamrul Faruk said that the case has been recorded and we are busy capturing the criminals.
It is mentioned that thirty rape incidents committed in the district in last three months.
Narayanganj police super Jayedul Alam termed it a crisis of social and religious values.
Of the thirty rape incidents-in Bandar thana area-7, Rupganj-6, Fatulla-5, Sadar-4, sonargaon-2, Araihazar-3 and Shiddhirganj-3 so far.
