A housewife named Riya Akhter committed suicide by hanging herself with her husband as he did not buy the internet data for her mobile phone under Karimganj upazila in Kishoreganj on Friday night. The incident took place at Alam Miah's house in Sadherjangal village of Zafarabad union of the upazila.
Upon receiving the news, the police recovered the hanging body of the housewife at night.
In addition, Karimganj Circle Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Iftekharuzzaman and Karimganj Police Officer in Charge Shamsul Alam Siddiqui visited the spot. The deceased were identified as Riya Akter, wife of Shakil Miah of Sadherjangal village and daughter of Liton Miah of the same village.
According to local sources, Riya Akhter's mobile phone internet data was used by her husband Shakil Mia. At that time, wife Riya Akhter asked her husband Shakil to buy internet data again. But as Shakil did not buy internet data, Riya committed suicide by hanging herself at home.
