Homeless to get brick houses in Jhenaidah

The government had sanctioned brick-built houses for 225 poor and homeless families in Jhenaidah district marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabndhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Dr Mahidul Hasan, director of the Office of the Prime Minister (PMO),  disclosed the matter  while visiting the under construction work of 38 houses at Mir Elius Hossain road at Fakirabad village of Jhenaidah Sadar upazila on Tuesday.

Jhenaidah Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saroj Kumar Nath, upazila parishad chairman Advocate Abdur Rashid, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Baruddoza Subho, assistant commissioner, land Khan Mohammd Abdullah Al Mamun, local union parishad chairman Nazrul Islam among others remain present.

Dr. Mahidul Hasan said the government of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been constructing residential houses for the homeless people throughout the country so that no one will be out of the housing coverage. To this end each house will cost for Taka 1.71 lakh under class A.

Jhenaidah Deputy Commissioner Saroj Kumar Nath when contacted said out of total 225 houses for the district, 100 houses are built for the people of Jhenaidah Sadar upazila in the first phase of the work marking the Mujibbarsho.
