Ignoring all obstacles, a stream of homebound people came down to Shimulia Wharf in Munshiganj ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. The crowd is not stopping even after the announcement of stopping the ferry service during the day.

People are coming after crossing the check post of law and order forces including BGB. With the increase of the day, the number of people is also increasing.

About 6,500 passengers left Ghat No. 3 at 7.30 am and left the ferry. Then at 10.30 am the ferry leaves Jamuna and then four more ferries leave at 2 hour or one hour break.

However, 15 ferries have been plying every night from last evening till 6 am. There was a rush of people at the wharf till 3 o'clock at night. However, the ferry service will be closed during the day without emergency services, said AGM of BIWTC. Shafiqul Islam.

Passengers are trying in various ways to cross the Padma by closing the ferry. Police on Monday detained 13 engine-driven boats while crossing the Padma in trawlers and fishing boats.

Sirajul Kabir, in-charge of Mawa Naval Police Outpost, said that despite the ban, they took risks. Attempts were being made to cross the Padma from the side of Shimulia Ghat in Munshiganj and go to Banglabazar in Madaripur, Kanthalbari and Majhikandi in Shariatpur. Passengers were pushed back to the wharf and boats and boats were detained. Later, the mobile court fined the middleman Tk 36,000.

Meanwhile, the government has announced a daytime shutdown of ferries from Saturday to reduce the risk of corona infection due to the influx of homebound people. But the slope was not going to stop. So the BGB was deployed from Sunday. But even then the people did not stop the slope. But when the ferry came to cross the Padma, there was a challenge. Launches, trawlers and speedboats are all closed. The ferry is not running normally, so thousands of people are waiting for the crossing now.

Deputy Commissioner. Moniruzzaman Talukder said, the slope is not going to be stopped. Therefore, to avoid the risk of infection, all kinds of ferry services have been stopped at Shimulia-Banglabazar Ghat during the day. On the Shimulia-Banglabazar route

There were 6 launches and 450 speedboats and more than 200 trawlers. There are 16 ferries in this route. 15 have been activated.

Passengers say long-distance public transport is closed, costing extra money and suffering. Then there is a delay in getting to the ferry. Despite the ban, but why is Corona out at risk? The passengers tried to make various arguments in response. However, more ferries ply on Mondays.
