Trophy of the maiden Hockey Champions Trophy was formally unveiled on Thursday at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.
Captains of six participating teams -- Acme Chattogram, Metro Express Barisal, Monarch Mart Padma, Rupayan City Cumilla, Saif Powertec Group Khulna and Walton Dhaka - unveiled the trophy of the franchise based tournament organized by Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF).
After unveiling the trophy, captains of Acme Chattogram, Saif Powertec Group Khulna, Rupayn City Cumilla and Monarch Mart Padma expressed their high hope to make a winning start in the tournament.
The Hockey Champions Trophy begins tomorrow (Friday) with two matches are billed on the opening day.
On the first day of the tournament, Acme Chattogram will take on Saif Powertec Group Khulna at 6.30 pm while Rupayn City Cumilla will face Shakib Al Hasan's Monarch Mart Padma in the day's second match of the opening day's fixture that kicks off at 8.15 pm.
Private satellite channel T-Sports will telecast both the opening day's matches live at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.
BHF's acting general secretary Mohammad Yousuf informed BSS that the federation has almost completed all the preparations to make the mega event a success one.
He informed that federation's president and Chief of Air Staff Shaikh Abdul Hannan BBP, BUP, NSWC FAWC, PSC is expected to inaugurate the tournament as the chief guest at 6 pm.
Meanwhile, sports lovers can easily enjoy the tournament matches by purchasing ticket through the online ticketing system, In this case, there will be no trouble in getting the ticket.
Bangladesh sports are going to enter the era of 'e-ticket' with this Hockey Champions Trophy. This first hundred percent online ticketing system for any sporting event in Bangladesh is going to be launched in the franchise hockey tournament.
