Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Parishad on hunger strike

A mass hunger strike was held at Ishwardi in Pabna on eight-point demands. Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Parishad Ishwardi Upazila Committee organized this mass hunger strike on Friday morning like the rest of the country as part of the central program to demand the implementation of minority interest friendly 

promises.

First of the programme, a protest meeting was held at Gate No 1 of Ishwardi Bazar. Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Parishad Upazila Committee President Santosh Sarkar presided over it. Vice President of Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Oikya Parishad Upazila Committee Babu Pandey, Utpal Sarkar, Acting General Secretary Gopal Adhikari, Municipal Committee President Partha Pratim Das, Ishwardi Upazila Puja Celebration Parishad President Sunil Chakraborty, Former Press Club President Swapan Kumar Kundu, our Deb Dulal Roy, secretary of Ishwardi, Tapas Saha, general secretary of Paur Puja Udjakar Parishad and Haripad Sarkar, president of Bandhan Ekta Sangh.

Speakers said that among the promises given by the government party in the 2018 election manifesto were Minority Protection Act, Elimination of Discrimination Act, Enactment of Intestate Property Conservation Act, formation of National Minorities Commission, proper implementation of Transfer of Entrusted Property Act, proper implementation of Hill Peace Treaty and Hill Land Commission Act and Establishment of separate land commission for tribals. 

But the current government has not implemented any of these promises. They demanded immediate implementation of these promises. At that time, leaders of various organizations of the Hindu community and people of various classes and professions were present.

After the protest meeting, the people and leaders of the Hindu-Buddhist-Christian community took part in a mass hunger strike in front of the central Shaheed Minar of Ishwardi. Before the hunger strike, a protest meeting was held at Gate No. 1 of the market.

Acting General Secretary Gopal Adhikari conducted the agenda under the chairmanship of Santosh Sarkar, President of the Upazila Committee of Oikya Parishad.
