Hime has become much more selective in acting than before in recent times. Just as the story of the drama should be as per her mind, the character should also suit her choice.
She got a similar character in the new serial drama ‘Smritir Alpona Aki’ which started shooting in Manikganj near the capital. Murad Parvez is the director of the series based on Mahfuzur Rahman’s novel. Masudul Hasan Shaon, Assistant General Manager, Opex and Sinha Group, wrote the drama and dialogues.
Hime is acting in the title role of Alpona in this drama. Hime said, “I started working under the direction of Murad by acting in the serial drama of ‘Smritir Alpona Anki’. Those of us who are acting are acting with a lot of awareness and attention to the character.
Since Corona is still ensuing, trying to shoot according to the highest health rules. In the series, I am playing the role of Alpona, an educated girl from an educated family.
I am in love with Arman, the son of a Muslim family. But she is married to another boy. So far I have loved working on the series. I hope the audience will like the drama when it is aired.”
Niloy Alamgir and Shiponmitra are starring opposite Hime in this series. Hime said that the series will be aired on ATN Bangla soon. Meanwhile, she has received a lot of response as an actress for acting in two dramas last Eid. The two dramas are Shams Karim’s ‘Ogo Bodhu Sundari’ and Sakhawat Manik’s ‘Biyer Prostuti’.
If the lockdown had not started because of Corona, maybe Jannatul Sumaiya Hime would have started working on Shyam Banegal’s biopic of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In this movie, Hime got the opportunity to act in the role of the daughter of Bangabandhu, the present Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The biopic was supposed to start on March 17, the centenary of Bangabandhu’s birth. But as corona caused a nationwide lockdown, the timing of the biopic’s work became uncertain.
