Chittagong Garments Accessories Group’s leaders exchange views with FBCCI newly elected President Mahbubul Alam.
During the meeting the leaders of the garments accessories group said the country's garment accessories industry faces various challenges due to the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war, high inflation.
They said the unsold clothing stocks in the international market have also reduced orders. As a result, the accessories industry has also had a direct impact on reduced orders.
They said apart from this, at present Chittagong Customs is harassing the importers on various issues including customs value, HS code and weight of imported goods for importing raw materials of various industries. They sought the intervention of the FBCCI president in this regard.
Garment Accessories Group convener Mohammad Belal, Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Syed Md. Jahangir Alam, Mohammad Arif Hossain and Toufiqul Alam were present in a discussion meeting.
Meanwhile, FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam assured to solve the existing problems through discussions with the customs authorities after listening to the traders.
