Both the Bangladesh national and the club football teams will have a hectic international schedule from August.
Bangladesh national Under-23 team will participate in the AFC Cup (Under-23) age group and the Asian Games and the national team (senior) will paly FIFA World Cup (2026) an Asia Cup qualifiers in September and October followed by Bashundhara Kings and Abahani Limited (Dhaka) will take part in the Asia Cup and the AFC Champions League competitions in August.
Meanwhile, AFC Under-23 and the Asian Games bound Bangladesh National Under-23 team will miss two vital performers Morsalin and Rakib when the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) announced the squad on Monday.
BFF, after an executive committee meeting on Monday squad announced the 22-member where Morsalin and Rakib are absent.
Both the players (Morsalin and Rakib), who are playing for the Bashundhara Kings will busy with their club duty when the preliminary and the playoff stage of the AFC Cup (Under-23) and AFC Championships League will take places almost at the same time.
Bashundhara Kings and Abahani Limited Dhaka will play in the AFC Cup (Club Cup) and AFC Champions League.
As Bashundhara Kings have already submitted their application to BFF for releasing their players, Morsalin and Rakib, they will miss the Asian Games.
Meanwhile, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has confirmed the line-up of the Preliminary and Playoff Stages of the AFC Cup and AFC Champions League 2023-24 when South Zone will kick off on August 8 and Abahani Limted Dhaka of Bangladesh scheduled to face off against Maldives’ Club Eagles on August 15.
