‘Heat wave’ to continue

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Saturday predicted that the ongoing mild heat wave would continue while weather would remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, reports BSS.

“Mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Dhaka, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Pabna, Khulna, Chuadanga, Bagerhat, Barishal, Patuakhali, Bhola, Rangamati and Sylhet, and it may continue,” said a Met Office bulletin issued on Saturday morning. Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, the bulletin said.

The highest temperature on Friday was recorded 37.5 degrees Celsius in Faridpur of Dhaka Division while Saturday’s minimum temperature was 18.4 degree Celsius in Srimangal of Sylhet Division. The sun sets at 6.13 pm on Saturday and rises at 5.53 am today (Sunday) in the capital.
