Hearing of Kakrail mother-son killing case adjourned till July 23

A Dhaka court on Thursday adjourned till July 23 the hearing of a case lodged over sensational murder of a mother and her son in capital’s Kakrail area in 2017, reports BSS. Dhaka 3rd Additional Metropolitan Session Judge Robiul Alam passed the order as a new prosecution witness testified and was later cross examined by the defence on Thursday.  

Farjana Eva, who was present during making of inquest report by police after the brutal murder, testified in the court as prosecution witness number 10. Shamsunnahar, 45, and her son Shaon were slaughtered in their 79/A Anjuman Mofidul Islam Road house in Kakrail on November 1, 2017. 

Shamsunnahar’s brother Ashraf Ali filed the case on November 2 against her husband Abdul Karim, his second wife Sharmin Mukta, Mukta’s brother Jonny and others.

Ramna Police Station inspector Ali Hossain on July 16, 2018, filed charge sheet against Karim, Mukta and Jonny.
