The ‘National Award on Tobacco Control-2023’ will be presented to some persons and organisations today (Sunday, June 11 in 2023) in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the national tobacco control activities in the country from their respective fields.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will hand over the award to its recipients in some categories during the national programme on the World No Tobacco Day-2023.
The event is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque, MP, will attend the event as the chief guest.
Secretary of Health Services Division of the ministry Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Howlader will preside over the programme.
Additional Secretary of Health Services Division Hossain Ali Khondokar, who is coordinator at the National Tobacco Control Cell (NTCC); confirmed the matter to the Bangladesh Post.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque, MP, and high officials of the ministry will formally hand over crests and certificates to the recipients of the ‘National Award on Tobacco Control-2023’ at the national event.
