Health Minister Zahid Maleque has dismissed speculations that he has contracted coronavirus. Appearing the online briefing of the IEDCR, he said on Sunday that he tested for the virus and the result was negative. “I am staying at home like others. I am working,” he said while giving a brief of the government’s preparations.
Asked whether any of the health ministry officials was suffering from the novel coronavirus, he skipped a direct answer. “I don’t know what you've heard. The health ministry is a big office. Some doctors and outsiders visit the ministry too. Therefore, it is possible for one of them to be infected,” he said. Bangladesh confirmed 48 coronavirus patients. Of them, five died and 15 made complete recovery.
