The government has prepared 79 health centres across the country for smooth health checkups and vaccination program of pilgrims.
Religious Affairs Ministry has released the list of centers provided by the Department of Health for health check-up and vaccination (Meningitis and Influenza) for pilgrims on Saturday.
On the other hand, the Saudi government has made the coronavirus vaccination mandatory for pilgrims this year as well. For this reason, the Ministry of Religion has ordered those who want to go for Hajj to get corona vaccination early.
In as notification signed by Religious Affairs Ministry Deputy Secretary of Hajj-1 branch AbulKashem Muhammad Shaheen the mandatory vaccination information was circulated on Friday.
According to the notification, the registration process of 2023 pilgrims has already been completed. It is requested to start the vaccination program for Hajj pilgrims from May 6.
Hajj registration has already been completed. A total of 120491 people have been registered. Hajj flights will start on May 21. Three air operators of home and abroad will carry pilgrims from Bangladesh to Saudi Arabia.
The designated centers for health examination and vaccination include the Civil Surgeon's office in all districts except Dhaka ( 63 districts). There are also Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital, 500 Bed Hospital Mugda, Fulbaria Government Employees Hospital, Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital, Bangladesh Secretariat Clinic, Dhaka Cantonment Combined Military Hospital. , Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital and Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master General Hospital in Gazipur.
Also, pilgrims can take health check-up and vaccination at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, Khulna Medical College Hospital, 250-bed Mohammad Ali Hospital in Bogra, 250-bed Sadar Hospital in Dinajpur.
The Holy Hajj will be held on June 27 (9th Zilhaj) this year subject to moon sighting. According to the previous Hajj agreement with Saudi Arabia, 127198 people from Bangladesh will be able to perform Hajj. Of the total, 15,000 pilgrims will perform Hajj under government management and the remaining 1,12,198 people will perform Hajj under private management.
As the quota of pilgrims have not fulfilled, the remaining quota will be returned to the Saudi Government. However, this not hinder the overall process of the hajj management.
