Health camp for lactating mothers held

A health camp was jointly organized by Faridpur District Administration and Department of Women's Affairs under the Lactating Working Mother Assistance Fund programme for the fiscal year 2019-20 at Ambika Memorial Hall on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Faridpur Atul Sarkar addressed the function as the chief guest with Deputy Director of District Women's Affairs Department Mashuda Hossain in the chair.  Mayor of Faridpur Municipality Sheikh Mahtab Ali Methu, Civil Surgeon Dr. Siddiqur Rahman and Deputy Director of District Family Planning Officer Niranjan Bandhu Dham spoke as special guests.

Atul Sarkar said, “The second phase of Corona pandemic is ahead, so we need to be more vigilant from now on. Everyone has to follow the health rules, use mask and maintain social distance must be maintained. If anyone comes out without a mask, we will take action against them.”

During the camp, 1,600 women were provided free medical treatment and 20 types of medicines through the Civil Surgeon's Office and 21 types of medicines including birth control materials were provided by Family Planning Office. 

Besides, a Life Buoy soap, 4 saline and a packet of biscuits were provided among them by the Department of Women's Affairs.
