Health camp arranged for pregnant mothers marking Mujib Barsho

A special healthcare camp for pregnant mothers was organized in Kotalipara upazila of Gopalganj on Monday on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary.

The day-long camp was held at Kotalipara Public Institution under the auspices of the Bangladesh Army ensuring hygiene and social distance from 10 am to 4 pm. 

The special medical campaign for pregnant mothers was conducted under the direction of GOC, 55 Infantry Division and Area Commander of Jashore Area, Major General Mohammad Humayun Kabir under the management of 105 Infantry Brigade in collaboration with Kotalipara Health Complex and 41 field ambulances.

On the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all time, the Bangladesh Army has conducted this special medical campaign for the pregnant mothers in Kotalipara Upazila who are unable to go to the hospital to see a specialist doctor due to poverty and corona crisis.

In this medical campaign, a medical team consisting of 5 military and civilian specialist doctors provided medical services and free medicine to a total of 120 pregnant women in Kotalipara Upazila. 

In addition, considering the Corona situation, the 55th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army distributed relief (food items) among all pregnant mothers at this time of crisis.

Lt. Col. Shubho Islam, commander of Unit 14 East Bengal, hopes to conduct  more such medical campaigns.
