The High Court (HC) Thursday asked authorities concerned to inform it about the government steps to prevent deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, reports BSS.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order acting suo moto. The court asked Ministry of Health and Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to submit report on this by March 9. The court also passed three verbal directions to Ministry of Health and DGHS. The directions are- inform the court about the tests being carried out on incoming passengers in different ports of the country to detect coronavirus. Whether the persons doing the tests are properly trained and the equipment being used are adequate.
To arrange separate cabins in all the public and private hospitals to treat the coronavirus patients. Government has to import necessary equipments in emergency basis to detect coronavirus in different hospitals and ports. “The court also laid emphasis on creating awareness so that none can spread panic regarding this,” said deputy attorney general ABM Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar.
