HC orders hiring 180 petitioners as teachers

The High Court (HC) has directed the Non-government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) to recommend to the authorities concerned to recruit 180 petitioners, who qualified the 14th NTRCA exam as teachers of non-government educational institutions.

The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Sardar Md Rashid Jahangir issued the order on Sunday (June 6) following a writ petition. 

The court asked the authorities concerned as well as the respondents to reply within four weeks. Seven officials, including Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division of Education Ministry, Secretary of Technical and Madrasah Education Division of the Ministry, director general of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education and chairman of the NTRCA, were made respondents in the writ petition.  

A total of 180 people, including Mohammad Jakir who qualified the 14th NTRCA examination, filed the writ. 

Advocate Mohammad Faruk Hossain moved for the petitioners. He said that according the court’s order, the authorities concerned have to recruit the 180 petitioners as teachers in non-government schools, colleges and madrasahs in the country. 

Earlier on May 31, another bench of the High Court directed the NTRCA to recommend to the authorities concerned to recruit around 2,500 persons, who qualified NTRCA exams, in four weeks.
